My Ph.D. research involves developing rapid diagnostic solutions to combat antimicrobial resistance. Currently I am working on two projects: a rapid bacterial identification assay using pre-amplified ribosomal RNA in a lateral crossflow device, and an antibiotic susceptibility determination assay using messenger RNA. Both approaches involve the use of a rapid, enzyme-based signal amplification method. I have hands-on experience in molecular biology as I did a project on DNA repair during by M.Tech. in Medical Biotechnology from IIT Hyderabad.
